Pocochay House
La Cruz, Chile · 2026
Single-story family home in La Cruz, set on a sloped site. A double-height volume gathers the social area, bedrooms sit in their own body and the project is conceived to be built in phases.
The house is designed on a sloped site in La Cruz, where topography demanded an architectural response able to take advantage of the level change without imposing on the landscape. The solution is a single-story home articulated by a double-height volume that gathers the social area.
Living, dining and kitchen occupy this main volume, benefiting from its spatial height and generous natural light. The bedrooms sit separately from the social zone, in their own body that orders family privacy.
From the start the project was planned to be built in phases, allowing the client to advance at their own pace without compromising the final architectural coherence.
The siting takes advantage of the slope as a resource: a lower terrace houses the entertainment area with pool, creating a different plane of relationship with the landscape and extending outdoor life.
